Our weekly home
Troop meetings happen every Wednesday evening at the church, where the troop also holds its parents' meetings.
Our chartered organization
Every Scouting America unit is sponsored by a community organization that shares its values. Since 2022, Troop 75's home has been Delmar Reformed Church, at the Four Corners in Delmar.
Delmar Reformed Church describes itself as "a community of faith that welcomes all." The congregation has been at Delmar's Four Corners since 1841, at 386 Delaware Avenue, and describes its calling as hospitality, generosity and taking part in God's work in the world.
In Scouting America, every troop is "chartered" by a community organization (a church, school, civic club or other group) that shares Scouting's values. The chartered organization owns the unit's charter, approves its adult leaders and provides a home. A Chartered Organization Representative from the church serves on the troop's committee.
Delmar Reformed Church welcomed Troop 75 as its chartered organization in late 2022. We're grateful for its partnership, and for First United Methodist Church of Delmar, which chartered the troop for many years before that and remains a friend of the troop.
Being chartered by a church doesn't mean Scouts have to belong to it, or to any congregation. Troop 75 welcomes Scouts and families of every faith and background.
Troop meetings happen every Wednesday evening at the church, where the troop also holds its parents' meetings.
Each February, Scouts in uniform join the congregation for worship to mark Scouting's anniversary.
Scouts help care for the church grounds at spring and fall clean-up days, and several Eagle Scout projects have improved the church and its property.
Every winter the troop and the church team up on a chicken barbecue dinner, a fundraiser for both.
Troop meetings are Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at 386 Delaware Avenue. Families are always welcome.
