Summer camp

For many Scouts, the week at summer camp is the best week of the year. Troop 75 goes every summer, often to more than one camp so families can choose the week that fits.

A week that builds confidence

At resident camp, Scouts live with their patrol in a troop campsite, eat in the dining hall, and spend their days working on merit badges: swimming, canoeing, archery, rifle shooting, climbing, first aid, nature and dozens more. Evenings bring campfires, games and the kind of friendships that last.

New Scouts usually take part in a first-year program that covers the skills for their early ranks, so they come home well on their way to First Class.

Where we go

In recent summers Troop 75 has camped at:

  • Rotary Scout Reservation in Poestenkill, our council's camp, close to home
  • Yawgoog Scout Reservation in Rhode Island, one of the oldest Scout camps in the country
  • Massawepie Scout Camps and Camp Sabattis in the Adirondacks
  • Badges at Barton, a merit badge weekend at Camp Barton in the Finger Lakes

Trained troop leaders go to every camp with the Scouts, and costs are announced in winter so families can plan ahead. Help is available. Ask us and no Scout misses camp because of cost.
