Our community gear sale
Sportsmart
For more than fifty years, Troop 75 has run Sportsmart, the Capital Region's favorite used ski and sporting goods sale. It's our biggest fundraiser, and the Scouts run it.
How it works
Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Bethlehem Central High School cafeteria fills with skis, snowboards, boots, skates, bikes, hockey and lacrosse gear and nearly every other kind of sporting equipment.
- In the morning, neighbors drop off gear to sell on consignment or donate.
- Scouts tag, sort and set out everything, staff the floor and run the check-out.
- In the afternoon, shoppers find great deals on gear for the coming season, plus a silent auction and food from the troop's Chuck Wagon.
Why it matters
Sportsmart funds a big share of Troop 75's program: campouts, equipment, trailers and help for Scouts who need it. And it's a real-world lesson for the Scouts, in teamwork, customer service and running something big.
Our signature fundraiser
