Privacy notice
This website is run by Troop 75 (Scouting America Troop 1075 of Delmar, NY), a volunteer-led unit of Scouting America in Delmar, NY. This notice explains what the site collects and what we do with it. The short version: very little, and nothing about children.
What we don’t do
- No cookies. The site doesn’t set any, so there’s no cookie banner.
- No analytics, trackers, ads or social media widgets. Pages load nothing from other companies.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information.
- We don’t collect information from children. Our forms are for adults (18 and older) and ask you to confirm it.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address, your topic and message, and that you’re 18 or older. If you’re asking about joining, you can also tell us your Scout’s grade and how you heard about us. We use this only to answer you. Your message is emailed to the troop’s adult volunteers who handle that topic and kept as a backup for 13 months, then deleted.
When you ask us to keep you posted
We keep your email address, your name if you give it, and the topics you chose, so we can send you occasional troop news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or ask us through the contact form to remove you.
Technical information
Like every website, our hosting service (Amazon Web Services) receives your device’s IP address when you visit, to deliver the page and protect the site. To stop spam, the forms count submissions from each visitor using a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address, which is deleted within two hours.
Where it’s kept
Form submissions are stored and emailed using Amazon Web Services in the United States, and delivered to the troop’s email accounts. Only adult volunteers who need them to do their troop job can see them.
Photos
We share action shots of troop activities, chosen so that Scouts aren’t the focus, and we never name anyone in a photo. If you’d like a photo removed, tell us which one and we’ll take it down.
Links to other sites
This site links to others, such as Scouting America, our council, Facebook, Instagram and our member site. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you’ve sent us, or to unsubscribe, through the contact form.
